FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Where does the recall data come from?
Directly from the three federal sources: openFDA (food, drug and device recalls), CPSC (consumer products) and NHTSA (vehicles). Every match links to the official government notice so you can verify it yourself.
How fresh is the data?
Our collectors pull from the federal sources on a schedule and each record carries the date it was announced. The result screen shows you when a recall was published.
What can I search by?
Product names, brand or manufacturer names, and UPC codes. Batch mode accepts one item per line and mixes all three freely.
What does the free plan include?
20 checks a month with batches up to 5 items, plus 3 plain-language summaries. No credit card required.
How do I cancel?
From your account page, one click opens the billing portal where you can cancel instantly. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. No emails, no phone calls.
Is this legal advice?
No. RecallScan surfaces official recall records to help you screen inventory. For compliance questions about your specific situation, talk to a lawyer.
